Yes, of course, the Dunbar Number. Humans have evolved to really only have close relationships with around 150–300 people.
But, if your goal is to become a successful writer like me then having only those 150–300 people buy your book probably isn’t going to do it for you.
This was essentially a somewhat failed marketing strategy on my part. When I started it three years ago I was thinking in terms of the old door to door sales idea that for every 100 doors slammed in your face you would make one sale.
At this point though I have the all my social media sites set up and people are finding my work even if they aren’t buying my books, so I keep at it.
