Chapter 1
Geezer Beil sat outside Jeri’s Tavern on a small wooden chair listening to the voice of the afternoon wind through the trees as it rolled in off the Pacific into the little Northern California town of Trajico Bay. The wind didn’t really have much to say about the future, but after a few hits off his pipe and with a beer and a half in his belly Geezer found memories hidden in the soft currents brought down to him from San Francisco. With the wind he could slip back thirty years to his times on Haight and Ashbury and in Berkley before he founded the Kind Cloud Farm Commune in 1972 and settled into the sedate life he’d been living here in Trajico Bay for over two decades.
Somewhere among all the excitement and confusion of the 60’s Geezer, his wife Maggie, and about a dozen of their close friends had at the turn of the decade decided to settle down into what had now become a self-sustaining commune. So as the summer of 2000 slowly…
