*This was the very first novel I wrote. I started it in 1999 and finished the first draft in 2003. After several years of failed attempts to shop it around to literary agents and publisher I finally gave up. I still think it is a good first novel, so I’ve decided to share it here on Medium. Enjoy!

Chapter1–5 (Pages 1–21)
Geezer Beil sat outside Jeri’s Tavern on a small wooden chair listening to the voice of the afternoon wind through the trees as it rolled in off the Pacific into the little Northern California town of Trajico Bay. The wind didn’t really have much to say about the future, but after a few hits off his pipe and with a beer and a half in his belly Geezer found memories hidden in the soft currents brought down to him from San Francisco.
