I’ve been in Japan for 16 years and I agree even though I have sort of the opposite situation since I’m a male Gaijin married to a Japanese woman.

But, I’m also glad I don’t have to be part of Japan Inc. It’s pretty oppressive for all but those at the top. Karoshi (working yourself to death) is still a serious problem here.
