A little poem inspired by Shaunta Grimes’ great article about perseverance even when the odds are incredibly long that you will ever become a “successful” novelist.

Bottom line: You will fail. Here’s how to sift to the top anyway.

I will be one of the ones
who never gave up.

Even if it’s all for naught.

Millions of words written
and released into the
world must be worth
something.
